I had a very positive experience in acquiring a set of hearing aids from Massachusetts Hearing Group. The people were very helpful and knowledgeable. Great Effort was made to assure that the aids fit and worked properly. It took 2 years of treatment at a terrific ENT physician office for me to fully understand how important my ability to hear was to me. When my ENT recommended going to see an audiologist, I was sure that I did not want and did not need a hearing aid. However, I started analyzing how often I asked people to repeat what they just said and how much conversations I just could not comprehend at meetings, no matter how fantastic I got at reading lips. I made an appointment with Dr. Harrington at Massachusetts Hearing Group, just to explore options. Dr. Harrington explained so much about my particular type of hearing loss, clearly and succinctly. We tried a hearing aid in the office and it was like a blind man seeing for the first time! No pressure from Dr. Harrington to purchase anything at the time, but I found myself asking how long it would take for me to be fitted for the aid! I have been back to Massachusetts Hearing Group and Dr. Harrington several times for them to check on my comfort and success in using my hearing aid. Each time I was taught more about care and use of the apparatus. Each time all materials were inspected and I was asked to my comfort level, did I have any questions or need any materials. My experience with Massachusetts Hearing Group and Dr. Harrington has been a pleasure! I am quite pleased that I took this positive step in obtaining a hearing aid from these dedicated and knowledgeable professionals. Additionally, Dr. Harrington provided me with tons of extra supplies for my aid and all the necessary paperwork to file for reimbursement from my insurance company without even asking. For years, I have been anxious about being alone in a situation where I could not hear or understand what people were saying to me. I had pretty much given up on driving or going anywhere alone because I needed someone to help me know what was being said. I used to be sick to my stomach at the thought of having to drive more than a few miles from my home. With my new hearing aids, I now am gaining back the confidence to do things on my own. I can hear things and know where they are from which is lessening my anxiety.
