Dr. Maguatte Mbengue grew up locally in Leominster, MA. Dr. Mbengue obtained both her bachelor\u2019s degree in psychology and Doctorate in Audiology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. While getting her education, she worked as a nurse’s assistant and childcare worker. Inspired by the experiences of her co-workers, she created a study tool for home healthcare workers to learn more about hearing loss and how to care for their client\u2019s hearing aids. During her one-year residency at Rhode Island Hospital, Dr. Mbengue took part in a training program called \u201cLeadership Education Neurodevelopmental and other related Disabilities (LEND)\u201d and worked with a variety of health care professionals to become leaders in their fields and advocates for patients with neurodevelopmental disabilities. She further gained experience providing audiological care for neurodivergent children and working with ethnically, linguistically and culturally diverse patient populations in the city of Providence.
